Dreaming Woman

Dreaming Woman

The dreaming woman is the theme of my paintings. A dreaming woman is a dream within a woman and a woman within a dream. The women whom I draw are dreaming of hope. Their eyes are closed, so they can see no evil. Within their dreams they are absolutely free and hoping for a better future. We are trapped in colors determined by how our societies teach us to see and acquire beliefs. Only the closed eyes can liberate us from the prisons of our presupposed assumptions and fears. This is so because a woman's dream is a woman's hopeful life.

A painting is a set of colors. And colors are the expressions of nature. This is why my paintings belong to expressionism as a school and method for revealing the secrets of nature. My dreaming woman is nature herself. The world is a dream waiting to be fulfilled. Dreams don't need words. We don't need words to express ourselves. Colors are the ultimate method of expression; they can never lie.
This is why my dreaming woman is silent. She doesn't need to speak because her dreams are the truths and values of tomorrow.

My dreaming woman can't reveal all the facts which she knows. This is why she hides behind condensed colors. And she can't reveal what she knows because her knowledge is composed of all the dreams fulfilled only  in a more humane future. The future is not yet here. The future resides in the dreams of a dreaming woman. My dreaming woman doesn't discriminate among the different colors. And this is why my paintings are full of all the possible emotions and feelings of sadness and joy at the same time. My painting is a dream of a dreaming woman. A dream in which one is joyful in one's sorrow, and a dream in which a woman reveals the whole truth without uttering a single word.
